Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama confirmed the release via X, noting that security forces played a key role in securing their freedom, though the exact details of their release remain unclear.
The news has brought relief to the victims’ families and the university community. The victims, mainly female students, were abducted during a February attack on their off-campus residences in Gusau.
