Nassarawa State University, NSUK Senate Decision on Third Semester Lectures and Examination.


Senate at its 122nd Regular Meeting held on Thursday, 26th September, 2024 discussed the issue of Third Semester and came up with the following:

Eligibility
- All students with First Semester and Second Semester carryover courses not exceeding 24 Credit Units;
- Students who started examination in a Semester but could not continue due to ill health and other similar conditions
- Students who missed examination in a Semester;
- Cases of late admission resulting in missed examination.
Charges as Approved by Senate
Eligible students are to pay N20,000 per course.
Date of Commencement
The date of commencement should be after the Second Semester Examinations and before the resumption of First Semester of the proceeding Academic Session.
Proposed Time-Table for the 2023/2024 Academic Session
Maximum of 8 weeks including 6 weeks for lectures (to be split into 3 weeks each for First and Second Semester respectively), and 2 weeks for examination as captured in the table below:
- First Semester Lecture – Three Weeks – 14th October-1st November, 2024 (4th November-22nd November, 2024
- Second Semester Lecture – Examination (One Week to be allocated for each Semester respectively – Two Weeks – 25th November-6th December 2024
Students should note that the Third Semester is optional, not compulsory.
