Oyindamola Akintola Jimoh fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a lawyer, overcoming challenges to graduate from law school, get called to the Nigerian Bar, and further pursue a master’s degree in banking and finance.
A determined Nigerian woman, Oyindamola Akintola Jimoh, has achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer after being called to the Nigerian Bar.
Oyindamola’s passion for law began in 2004 when, as a curious child, she watched her father leave home fully robed in his legal attire, carrying a heavy briefcase. This admiration sparked her desire to one day wear the same robe and pursue a legal career.
In 2013, she took her first step toward this goal by gaining admission to Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) to study Law (LL.B), from which she graduated in 2019. She then enrolled at the Nigerian Law School in 2020, where she faced the intense workload and challenges that come with legal training.
“Like many of my learned friends can testify, it has been the longest journey with different times we considered making U-turns; but God, seeing the end from the beginning, held us firmly on course and we’re here now, telling of His goodness!” she shared.
Her perseverance paid off, and in 2021, she was inducted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, marking the realization of her childhood dream.
Determined to broaden her expertise, Oyindamola pursued a Master’s degree in Money, Banking, and Central Banking at the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom.
Reflecting on her journey, she expressed deep appreciation for the support of her family, mentors, and friends.
“I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve had so far from family, mentors, and friends! Hey Daddy, I get to be fully robed too,” she celebrated.
Oyindamola’s story serves as an inspiration to young people pursuing their dreams, proving that determination and perseverance lead to success.
