The Federal Ministry of Education and the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) have signed an agreement to enhance Nigeria’s technical, vocational, and engineering education.

The signing ceremony, held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, marks a crucial step in strengthening technical capacity and fostering long-term collaboration between Nigeria and China.
Dr. Nasir Sani Gwarzo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, emphasized the partnership’s potential to elevate technical education in Nigeria. “This is just the beginning of a long-term relationship,” he stated. He noted that while the agreement is not legally binding, it reflects a strong commitment to mutual growth, with provisions for future expansion and quality enhancement.
John Zhao, Director of CCECC, reaffirmed the corporation’s dedication to supporting Nigeria’s education sector. “With Nigeria’s leadership prioritizing education, this collaboration aligns well with national development goals,” he said, highlighting CCECC’s commitment to providing expertise, technology, and equipment.
Mrs. Larai Nana Ahmed, Director of Education Support Services, described the agreement as a major step toward educational excellence in Nigeria.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marks a significant milestone in Nigeria-China educational cooperation, with both parties optimistic about its long-term benefits for national development.
