Nigerian lawyer, Dr. Tioluwani Comfort Tioluwani speaks on how she completed her PhD degree and earned multiple awards in the UK.


Dr. Tioluwani Comfort Tioluwani, whose mother and sister are also lawyers, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Essex, where she completed her Ph.D.
After earning a Master’s degree from Bangor University, Wales. She is also a partner at The Law Corridor in Abuja. Tioluwani credits her parents for their significant role in her career path and offers insights on improving the Nigerian judiciary.
Dr. Tioluwani’s interest in law began in primary school when she played a lawyer in a drama session. This experience, along with her mother’s influence, who is also a lawyer, motivated her to pursue a legal career.
She studied law at the University of Abuja after secondary education at Kings International College, Ibadan, and later traveled to the UK for further studies, where she excelled and received multiple awards.
Tioluwani was awarded the Best LL.M. student at Bangor University and later earned a Ph.D. in Private and Business Law from the University of Essex. She is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment and pushing research boundaries, actively engaging with the Society of Legal Scholars and the Nigerian Bar Association.
Dr. Tioluwani has received numerous awards, including the Canadian Black History Trail Blazer Award and the Toronto Police Humanitarian Award, for her academic achievements and advocacy for diversity and inclusion within the legal profession. She is also a partner at the Care People Foundation, supporting individuals with disabilities and orphans.
Tioluwani credits her parents for their support and upbringing, which she believes played a crucial role in her success. She emphasizes their continuous support and prayers as vital to her achievements.
