Sy’rai Smith, daughter of award-winning singer and actress Brandy Norwood, has graduated with top honors from The Los Angeles Film School, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Entertainment Business.
At just 22 years old, Sy’rai completed her studies with Summa Cum Laude distinction—an academic honor reserved for students with outstanding academic performance in the U.S.
Brandy proudly celebrated her daughter’s milestone in an emotional Instagram post:
“Sy’rai Iman Smith, Summa Cum Laude Graduate of 2025 — Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business,” she wrote.
She went on to applaud Sy’rai’s dedication and perseverance, especially as she balanced her academic pursuits with a growing music career.
“I’m so proud of you my girl!! Your journey has been amazing to watch. Your dedication and perseverance I love you so much and all I ask is for you to keep shining and dreaming as big as you can. Love, Mama,” she added.
Sy’rai also celebrated her achievement on her own Instagram page, sharing photos from her graduation shoot. Brandy joined the celebration in the comments once again, writing:
“I’m soooooooooo proud of you and the woman you continue to become! You’re the brightest light I’ve ever seen and I’m looking forward to the next chapter of your life. Congratulations #SyraiClassOf2025 #YouDidIt.”
This latest milestone isn’t Sy’rai’s first academic success. In 2023, she earned an associate degree from the same institution. Alongside her educational journey, Sy’rai is also making strides in the music industry, carving a path that reflects her passion and talent—just like her mother.
