A Nigerian graduate, after two years of unsuccessful job hunting, took to social media to make an emotional appeal for employment, highlighting the struggles of many young Nigerians facing unemployment despite their education.

After two years of relentless job searching, a Nigerian graduate has returned to social media to once again appeal for employment. The young man, known on X (formerly Twitter) as @Hirazzy, has gained attention for his emotional posts documenting his prolonged struggle to secure a job despite being educated and willing to work.
In his latest tweet, he expressed frustration and desperation, writing:
“Two years ago, I am still actively searching for employment. I kindly appeal for support, please help the son of a struggling man. 😢”
This follows a previous post from a year earlier, in which he shared his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate and pleaded:
“A year ago yesterday but I still dey find job. Them sell family land send me go school please kindly RT for me. Thanks.”
His situation reflects a broader issue facing many young graduates in Nigeria—high unemployment rates, limited opportunities, and increasing pressure on families who invest heavily in their education.
His story sparked a wave of reactions online. While many empathized with his situation and offered encouragement, others responded with skepticism and criticism. Here are some notable comments:
- @onyinye_chim: “My dear, Naija no get job for anybody. My advice, go and learn hand work. Na business sure pass now.”
- @laporshgramm: “Keep trying, tomorrow might be your lucky day.”
- @legionstrings: “No go start your own employment. This one na generational failure o. How you go dey find work for 3 years? Are you daft or just old school stupid?”
- @AbiolaGoId: “Post CV and the roles you’re looking for under the post.”
The young man’s persistence serves as a stark reminder of the need for job creation and support systems for graduates transitioning into the workforce.
