The distressing news was initially made public by social media user @Mho_bolajhi on X (formerly Twitter), who revealed that the corps member departed for Lagos on June 1 — two days before the official POP ceremony, which marks the conclusion of the one-year mandatory national service for Nigerian graduates.
According to @Mho_bolajhi’s post, the young man has not been seen or heard from since the day he embarked on his journey. Multiple attempts by his family and friends to reach him have failed, and his phone has reportedly remained unreachable.
Authorities have been informed of the situation, and a missing person report has been filed. However, as of the time of this report, no significant progress has been made in locating him. The corps member’s family is growing increasingly desperate and is appealing to the general public for any information that might aid in finding their loved one.
In a public plea, @Mho_bolajhi wrote:
“Good day sir, our brother, an NYSC member, went missing on his way to Lagos on June 1, 2025, ahead of his POP on June 3. Authorities have been notified, but there’s been little progress. Any help or intervention you can provide will mean a great deal to us during this difficult time.”
The post has since gone viral, drawing the attention of concerned Nigerians who have expressed shock and offered prayers for his safe return. Many have also called on the NYSC management, security agencies, and transportation authorities to intensify efforts in investigating the disappearance.
