A MAPOLY graduate was left in tears on her convocation day after her iPhone 14, used to document the celebration, was stolen—sparking an emotional reaction online and raising concerns about event security.
A recent graduate of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) was left heartbroken after her iPhone 14 was stolen during her convocation ceremony.
The emotional incident was captured in several TikTok videos, where the young woman tearfully recounted how the excitement of her graduation day quickly turned into a nightmare. According to her, she had prepared multiple contents and videos to document the special occasion, only for her phone to be stolen before she could even enter the event venue.
“After all the excitement, pictures, and videos I made for my convocation, someone still stole my phone. I can’t believe this is happening to me,” she cried.
She revealed that the stolen iPhone 14 had been her personal device for two years and was her primary tool for creating content. To make matters worse, her parents had traveled all the way from Ibadan to celebrate with her, only to find her in distress.
“I opened my bag and the phone was gone. I didn’t even make it into the convocation hall. I’ve been crying since morning,” she added.
“I can’t even afford to replace it with an Android. I’m so confused right now.”
The video concluded with her expressing anger and heartbreak, placing a curse on the individual responsible:
“Whoever took that phone, you’ll never know peace.”
