Students at Adekunle Ajasin University in Ondo State are alarmed over the unexplained disappearance of two 200-level students, Andrel Eloho Okah and John Friday Abba, missing for over two weeks despite ongoing police and university investigations.
Students at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo State have raised alarm over the mysterious disappearance of two 200-level students who have been missing for more than two weeks.
The missing individuals are:
- Andrel Eloho Okah, from the Department of History and International Studies, Faculty of Arts
- John Friday Abba, from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Agriculture
Peers described the duo as close friends and said their prolonged absence from school activities is highly unusual. Despite multiple efforts to contact them and search for them both on and off campus, there has been no sign of their whereabouts.
One of their classmates, Ajibola, voiced growing concern:
“They’ve been gone for over two weeks now. We’ve searched everywhere and tried calling, but their phones remain unreachable. No one knows if they’ve been kidnapped or if something else happened. Everyone is worried and tensions are rising.”
The situation has reportedly been brought to the attention of both the university authorities and the police. However, students express frustration over what they describe as a lack of urgency in the response.
A university official, who requested anonymity, acknowledged that the school is monitoring the case but suggested that “unwholesome activities” may be connected to the matter.
Mr. Victor Akinpelumi, spokesperson for the institution, confirmed that the police have been notified.
Meanwhile, the Ondo State Police Command through its spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed that an investigation is underway.
Family members have also begun independent efforts to locate the missing students. As concern spreads, the university community remains on edge, hoping for answers and a safe return.
