LASU Management Encourages Fresh And Returning Full-time Undergraduate Students to Choose Campus Accommodation Following the Unveiling of Five New Ultra-Modern Hostel Facilities.
In line with Lagos State University’s strategic policy to evolve into a fully residential campus, the University has announced the unveiling of an additional five (5) new ultra-modern hostel facilities, while urging fresh and returning full-time undergraduate students to prioritise on-campus accommodation for the many benefits it offers.
This milestone, achieved through a Public-Private Partnership, underscores LASU’s unwavering commitment to student safety, academic excellence, and a vibrant campus experience.
The Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, strongly encourages students, especially newly admitted candidates, and their parents or guardians to consider applying for the University-managed hostels. She emphasised that campus accommodation not only supports academic performance but also fosters a strong sense of community, belonging, and personal development.
Prof. Olatunji-Bello acknowledged the difficulties many families face in securing safe and reliable accommodation off campus. She therefore cautioned against engaging with fraudulent agents and landlords who exploit students through misleading advertisements on social media, adding that these scams often target unsuspecting students under the guise of offering housing solutions, resulting in financial loss and emotional distress.
She further noted that recurring tensions between students and host communities have made on-campus living a safer alternative. By choosing to reside on campus, students can enjoy a secure, enriching university experience that aligns with LASU’s vision for a fully residential academic environment.
