Fed Poly Ayede Council Appoints Acting Rector, Substantive Registrar, Bursar

The Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State has approved the appointment of the Director of Academic Planning of the institution, Engr Dr Temilola Morufat Adepoju, as acting Rector.

The Council also approved the appointment of Mr Akinlolu Akinpade and Mr Mufutau Alao as Registrar and Bursar respectively.

The appointment of the substantive Rector is pending approval by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following the submission by Governing Council.

A statement by the acting Director of the Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations (CICPR), Mr Sunday Adepoju, said the Council made the decision on Thursday during its emergency meeting centred on the implementation of the decisions of the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, on the affairs of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede.

Mr Adepoju said the directive of Dr
Alausa was contained in a communication dated May 14, 2026 and addressed to the Chairman of the Governing Council, Hon. Yakubu Dati, with reference number FME/PE&AI/DEPT/C.11/11/229.

He stated that all the appointments, according to the Council, take effect from May 14, 2026.

Adepoju said, “I wish to intimate the internal and external publics of Federal Polytechnic Ayede that our Governing Council, ably led by Hon. Yakubu Dati (FNIPR), has approved the appointment of Engr Dr Temilola Morufat Adepoju as acting Rector; Mr Akinlolu Akinpade and Mr Mufutau Alao as substantive Registrar and Bursar respectively.

“The Council had earlier appiinted Mr Dare Samuel Adeleke as acting Polytechnic Librarian.

“After the expiration of the tenure of the pioneer Principal Oficers of the institution on March 15, 2026, the Council appointed the most senior academic staff as acting Rector and was subsequently suspended.

“The Council had rolled out advertisements for the appointment of Rector, Registrar, Bursar and Polytechnic Librarian and subsequently approved the appointments of acting Rector, substantive Registrar, Bursar and acting Polytechnic Librarian.”

Adepoju explained that the Minister of Education directed the Council that the suspension of the previous acting Rector be maintained while approving the appointment of Engr Dr Temilola Morufat Adepoju as acting Rector and the appointments of Mr Akinlolu Akinpade and Mr Mufutau Alao as Registrar and Bursar respectively.

He assured the institution’s various publics of peace, growth and development as the Polytechnic navigates the current transition.

According to him, the institution remains committed to excellence in all its operations and will continue to uphold the values that have earned it recognition in different areas.

Adepoju added that the Polytechnic has put in place adequate security measures to protect the lives and property of students, staff and other stakeholders of the institution.
