An American woman by the name Carey Joy, tied the knot with Albert Wanyonyi, a Kenyan man from Bungoma in 2018.

Carey Joy, a US missionary said God revealed to her that Albert Wanyonyi, a boda boda rider was her perfect match when they met for the very fiirst time.
What is surprising and amazing is the distance and difference in their level of education. Carey holds four degrees in different fields one of which is in economics, while her husband is just a primary two dropout. She is settled down in marriage with Wanyonyi, who cannot speak the English language fluently since he is a primary dropout.
Though Wanyonyi was said to have fallen in love with the Carey, the language barrier was their main challenge. Carey who is now a mother of two explained that God had told her that Wanyonyi was her anointed husband and to that she doesn’t care whether he was educated or not.
In her words, she said: “As he was introducing himself, God spoke to me and said, this is your husband and that’s why you never found the right one back at home,”.
The American woman said she enjoys living with her husband in his village in Bungoma. She had however learnt Swahili adding that before that, they used to communicate through feelings and signs.
The story of this missionary lady, Carey and Wanyonyi is true reflection of the common belief that ‘Love is blind’. This is true because, regardless of their language barrier and their education levels, Carey was indifferent in fulfilling her desires to marry him as she had noted that it was as directed and shown to her by God.
