Four sisters fulfilled their late father’s lifelong dream of becoming lawyers, crediting their mother’s resilience, strong family values and unwavering faith for helping them overcome grief and challenges to achieve the milestone.
Four sisters, Jesuferanmi Bola-Longe, Jesudunmo Longe-Osigwe, Jesupologo Bola-Longe and Jesusepataki Bola-Longe, have inspired many Nigerians after fulfilling their late father’s lifelong dream of seeing all his daughters become lawyers. Their remarkable achievement attracted widespread attention following their call to the Nigerian Bar.
Their mother, Chuza Bola-Longe, said the journey became much more difficult after her husband’s death, as she had to cope with grief while taking on the responsibility of funding her daughters’ education. Despite the challenges, she remained determined to ensure they completed their legal studies and honoured their father’s vision.
The sisters said they were raised on the values of faith, integrity, humility, discipline and service. They explained that their parents constantly encouraged them to pursue excellence, remain committed to God and use their education to make a positive impact on society.
Each of the sisters described facing personal and academic challenges, including prolonged university strikes, the demanding nature of law school and the emotional burden of losing their father before completing their journey. They credited their mother’s sacrifices and the support they received from one another for helping them persevere.
They also revealed that becoming lawyers represented far more than earning a professional title. According to them, it symbolised the fulfilment of their father’s dream, years of sacrifice and a commitment to uphold justice, integrity and service throughout their careers.
Reflecting on their family’s journey, the sisters expressed gratitude for the legacy their parents left behind and encouraged young people to remain resilient in pursuing their goals. They said their story demonstrates that faith, determination and strong family support can help overcome even the most difficult circumstances.
