The Al-Qalam University Part-Time Degree Programmes Unit wishes to announce to the general public that the Online Application for Admission into various Part-Time Programmes for 2025/2026 Academic Session has commenced.

Available Programmes

1. BSc. Accounting

English, Mathematics, Accounting/Book-keeping/Commerce/Economics & other two subject

2. BSc. Business Adm.

English, Mathematics, Accounting/Book-keeping/Commerce/Economics & other two subject

3. BSc. Economics

English, Mathematics, Economics & any other two subjects

4. BSc. Pol. Science

English, Mathematics, Government/History/Civic Edu & any other two subjects

5. BSc Sociology

English, Mathematics, Government/History/Civic Edu & any other two subjects

DURATION

100 Level: Minimum of 12 Contacts (3) contacts per academic session)
200 Level: Minimum of 10 Contacts (3 contacts per academic session)
300 Level: Minimum of 8 Contacts (3 contacts per academic session)

Philosophy of the Part-time Degree Programmes:

The Part-time Degree is designed for six years (6), four years (4), three (3) years and two (2) years, i.e. 100 level for holders of GCE/SSCE/TC/NABTEB/NBAIS; 200 level Direct Entry for ND/NCE holders; 300 level for Advanced Diploma/relevant Advanced Certificate holders/Accredited & approved Professional Qualification holders and 500 level for HND holders, B.Sc. third class/pass
Degree holders and holders of relevant B.A. Degrees.

Operational set up of the Programmes:

o Lectures/Contacts shall be on Friday evenings and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) throughout the semester.
o Course Materials in hard and soft forms would be provided.

o Information Technology system would be used to minimise the face to face interaction between the students and the lecturers.

Admission Requirements

o Candidates for admission into year one (100 level) should possess five (5) relevant credits in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) which must include English Language and Mathematics
o Candidates for admission into year Two (200 level) should possess, in addition to five (5) relevant credits in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) which must include English Language and Mathematics, the following:

o At least two (2) GCE ‘A’ level/IJMB/’A level NABTEB Subjects with passes;
o Diploma from a recognized institution;
o National Certificate in Education from a recognized institution.
o Candidates for admission into year Three (300 level) should possess, in addition to five (5) relevant credits in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) which must include English Language and Mathematics, any of the following:
o Diploma from a recognized institution Plus Advanced Diploma/relevant Advanced Certificates/Accredited & Approved Professional Qualifications.
o Candidates for admission into year five (500 level) should possess, in addition to five (5) relevant Credits in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) which must include English Language and Mathematics, any of the following:

– Higher National Diploma from a recognized institution or B.Sc. at Third Class/Pass level from recognised Institution or B.A. in the relevant field of study from recognised Institution.
– Finally, candidates are advised to seek the admissions through Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
