AAUA Graduates 5,145 students, 53 bags First Class

A total of 5,145 students have graduated from the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, out of which 53 graduated with first-class honours as disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Olugbenga Ige.

He made this disclosure while speaking with journalists about the forthcoming 10th and 11th convocation of the university.

Giving the breakdown of the graduates, the VC said:

“In the aggregate, we are presenting 5,145 graduands at this 10th and 11th Convocation, with the Faculty of Education having 1,415, followed by Faculty of Science is 924; Faculty of Social and Management Sciences is 1061, Faculty of Agriculture is 156, Faculty of Arts is 748, Faculty of Law is 181, Institute of Education is 307, Institute of Part-Time Programmes is 231, and Diploma is 13. There are 356 graduands receiving postgraduate degrees, 25 of whom are in the Ph.D. category, the highest in the history of this university.

“Of these 5,145, a total of 53 students made first class, 1,511 earned second class (upper division), 2861 bagged second class (lower division), 667 had third class, while 40, are in the pass category.”

The VC also said the university had revamped all academic programmes being offered in the school making them more relevant and valuable while acknowledging that many of the programmes of the institution had been accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
