Abia State University, ABSU Management Suspends Staff For Alleged Brutalization Of Student.

The University Management, Abia State University, under the able leadership of the Vice-chancellor, Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu has directed the immediate suspension of a security staff, Mr. Ugochukwu Onyemere, for three (3) months for dereliction of duty and gross act of indiscipline.
In a letter signed by the Registrar, Dr Acho Elendu, the suspension is in line with the University conditions of service, pending further investigation of his involvement in a case of brutalization of a student, Miss Dominic Chizurum, on Monday 6th May 2024, at Hostel H. Room 22, which is inconsistent with the level of responsibility expected of a security personnel.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor has also called the student, Miss Dominic Chizurum to extend the sympathy and support of management while assuring staff and students of the University of their safety and protection at all times.
