Ahman Pategi University (APU) has achieved a significant milestone with the National Universities Commission (NUC) issuing a permanent licence, granting the institution full operational status as a private university in Nigeria.

It will be recalled that the University was licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the National Universities Commission (NUC) on April 8, 2021.
The permanent licence was awarded following a resource verification exercise that took place around this year, June 2024.
According to a statement from the NUC, the permanent licence recognizes APU’s substantial investment in infrastructure, faculty development, and research initiatives, positioning the university as a leading player in Nigeria’s private tertiary education sector.
Dr. Amina Ahman Pategi who received the licence certificate at NUC’s office in Abuja today, 30th of October, 2024, on behalf of the late founder, Hon. Dr. Aliyu Bahago Ahman Pategi expressed gratitude to the commission, saying, “This achievement validates our dedication to providing world-class education. We remain committed to nurturing talented individuals who will drive national development.”
The permanent licence enables APU to expand its academic programmes, strengthen industry partnerships, and enhance research collaborations, further solidifying its reputation as a centre of academic excellence.
