Ashaka Victory, a 200 Level student of the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, Lagos State University has beaten thousands of others to clinch the second position in the just concluded national video contest tagged #4ABatterNigeria, organized by the National Orientation Agency, Nigeria.
Ashaka, quoting the Director-General, NOA, Dr. Abari, on his personal Facebook page revealed that the essence of the contest is to encourage citizens to freely and actively participate in progressive national conversations by sharing a minute patriotic video message on social media.
It also aims to awaken the consciousness of Nigerians to their responsibilities to the promotion of peace and national unity, citizen’s commitment to human rights to building a free, just, and progressive society, mobilize and curate progressive public opinion on government programmes and policies.


Ashaka is no stranger to competitions and laurels. He was a member of the Faculty of Arts team which represented the University and emerged Winners at the 2020 Westcosels Conference Intervarsity Debate Competition, in February 2020
He also emerged as the Best Delegate in Peace Building Committee at the 2019 NITIMUN Conference, Abuja, Nigeria.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oyedamola Oke, congratulates Ashaka on his achievement while urging other students of the University to continue to seek and grab opportunities to showcase their gifts to the world.
