The ASMAF Scholarship is awarded primarily based on the financial need of the applicant and her family, with a strong emphasis on academic merit. Candidates must demonstrate superior academic ability and a commitment to personal and professional growth. The scholarship provides:

ASMAF Scholarship Program

The ASMAF Scholarship supports female Nigerian students from indigent backgrounds pursuing professional courses at public Nigerian universities. It provides comprehensive financial, academic, and personal development support to foster academic excellence and leadership.

    Covers tuition, board, and upkeep for up to six years, depending on the course of study and sustained academic performance.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the ASMAF Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a female Nigerian citizen from an indigent background.
  • Be pursuing tertiary education for the first time.
  • Have gained admission to or be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in one of the following professional courses at a public Nigerian university:
  • Medicine
  • Law
  • Actuarial Science
  • Engineering
  • Accountancy
  • Architecture
  • Other professional courses
  • Demonstrate financial need and academic excellence.
  • Exhibit strong leadership potential and commitment to professional growth.

How to Apply for ASMAF Scholarship Application for Female Nigerian Students


Application Process:

  • Complete the online application form .
  • Submit all required documentation.
  • Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted, and all selection decisions are final.

Required Documents:

  • Evidence of university admission via JAMB.
  • Academic records, including credit passes from GCE, NECO, WASC, or other approved examinations.
  • Proof of success in post-JAMB assessments or current university registration with certified transcripts.

Recommender/Referee Requirements:

  • Must be non-relatives.
  • Must be familiar with the applicant’s academic and financial background.

Note: Incomplete or falsified applications will be deemed ineligible.

Selection Process

The selection process includes:

  • Verification of eligibility criteria.
  • Contacting recommenders for additional insights.
  • Ranking applicants based on:
  • Course of study.
  • State of origin.
  • University location.
  • Final selection based on available funding.

Successful applicants will receive a formal offer and must respond within the stipulated timeframe.

Scholarship Conditions

Awardees must:

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Submit an annual progress report.
  • Refrain from full-time employment and seek ASMAF’s approval for any part-time work.
  • Not hold other scholarships without ASMAF’s written consent.
  • Not change their course of study without ASMAF’s approval.

The scholarship is non-transferable and renewable annually, subject to satisfactory academic performance and participation in ASMAF programs.

Termination of Award

The scholarship may be terminated if:

  • The awardee no longer meets eligibility requirements.
  • The university terminates the student’s enrollment.
  • Academic performance is unsatisfactory.
  • False information is provided.
  • The annual progress report is not submitted.

Closing Date: Friday, 12th September 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Reinstatement is only possible if termination occurred in error.
