ATBU Notice On Enforcement Of The University Dress Code.

The Students’ Affairs Division (SAD) has observed with dismay the prevalence of indecent dressing by our students. It has become pertinent to remind both staff and students that it is mandatory to abide strictly by the regulations of the University on dress code among others. The University community should note that the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has directed University Administrations to check and deal decisively the prevalence of indecent dressing in all tertiary institutions across the country.

One of the objectives of the SAD is to provide decent learning and living environmentfor all students. To this end, it is mandatory for every student in the University to abide by the extant regulations of the University and assist his or her fellow students to do likewise.

Specifically, the following dresses are disallowed/prohibited by the University community.

• Body hugs
• Sphagetti tops
• Bandless jeans
• Mono straps
• Flat caps (Panama)
• Bowler hats
• Transparent apparels
• Sleevesless tops
• Bikinis
• Bum short revealing laps
• V-necks exposing br£ast
• Sagged trousers
• See through

Any student or staff found violating the dress code regulations highlighted above will be denied access into any of the University facility or be sanctioned in accordance with the extant regulations of the University.
