Cursory: An African lecturer has emerged as the best PhD graduate at the Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University in Turkey. Dr. Emmanuel Daanoba Sunkari received a Cumulated Weighted Average (CWA) of 96.69% to earn the prestigious title.
Emmanuel Daanoba Sunkari is a Ghanaian man with a passion for geological engineering. Despite facing many obstacles, including financial constraints and limited opportunities in his home country, Emmanuel refused to give up on his dream of pursuing a PhD in the field.
Determined to succeed, Emmanuel applied for an academic program at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University in Turkey. To his delight, he was accepted into the program and embarked on his academic journey in a foreign land.
While pursuing his PhD in Geological Engineering (Economic Geology and Geochemistry Option), Emmanuel worked tirelessly, day and night, to produce groundbreaking research and scientific papers.
Emmanuel’s hard work paid off, as he not only successfully completed his PhD program with an incredible Cumulated Weighted Average (CWA) of 96.69%, but he also published 36 scientific papers in Web of Science Indexed journals and presented over 35 papers in scientific international conferences in more than 10 different countries. Emmanuel’s passion and dedication to his field earned him several Best Paper awards and over 530 citations from world-renowned scientists.
His 96.69% CWA earned him the Overall Best Graduating PhD Student in the Univesity.
Another key factor in Emmanuel’s success was the support he received from his loved ones and academic mentors.
Taking to his Facebook page, the now Dr. Emmanuel, expressed his gratitude to his wife, who supported him throughout his academic journey in Turkey, as well as his PhD supervisor and advisory committee, who provided him with guidance and mentorship.
Emmanuel’s story is a powerful reminder that with hard work, determination, and the support of others, we can achieve our dreams no matter where we come from. It is a story that inspires us to pursue our passions and to never give up on our dreams, no matter the obstacles we may face.
