The National Universities Commission has directed all the universities across the country to shutdown for a month.
In a circular signed by the Deputy Executive Secretary (Academics) of the NUC, Dr. Suleiman Ramon-Yusuf on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Professor Abubakar Rasheed, the commission said that it became imperative to close schools as part of measures to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

According to the circular dated March 20, 2020, all universities shall be closed for one month from March 23, 2020.
Meanwhile, the management of the Obafemi Awolowo University had since told its students to vacate hostels and proceed on indefinite holiday.
