UNILORIN Rusticates, Expels Six Final Year Students, 13 Others (Full List)

Cursory: The University of Ilorin has disciplined 19 students, including six final-year students, for various offenses such as misconduct, theft, examination malpractice, and assault. The penalties imposed range from rustication for one semester or one academic session to expulsion.

The University of Ilorin in Kwara State has taken strict action against 19 students, including six in their final year, for their involvement in various offenses.

According to a statement from the university’s director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, the decision to expel or rusticate these students came after the vice-chancellor, Wahab Egbewole (SAN), approved the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.

The offenses committed by these students include misconduct, theft, examination malpractice, hostel bed-space racketeering, extortion, assault, admission racketeering, and beating a fellow student.

The penalties imposed on the students vary, with some facing rustication for either one semester or one academic session, while others are expelled altogether.

These students were from different academic levels, spanning from 100 to 400 levels.
