Students of Ebonyi State University, EBSU,had staged a heavy protest on Thursday at the Permanent Site of the Institution.

The protest was staged because five students fainted while trying to write their exams on Wednesday.
It was gathered that trouble started when the General Studies Examination which used to be conducted at the Ishieke Campus and Permsite was scheduled to only take place at the Permanent Site of the Institution with over 10,000 students struggling to write the exams while over 30 students lost their phones and tablets in the process when they were trying to enter into the CBT centre.
The Abakaliki – Enugu Express Way was blocked by the students as thay demanded that an end be put to CBT examinations.
“We don’t want CBT again. We want Paper and pencil. Why should the school management decide to suffer us like this.”
“This is very bad. We demand justice. Over five students fainted yesterday while trying to write the exam.” a student said.
The express-way was eventually cleared but as a result of the intervention of the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Barrister Eric Kelechi Igwe. He also promised that the CBT examination will be ended.
