The Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Vom in affiliation with the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi (ATBU) invites application from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the degree and PGD programmes.

PGD, Agricultural Economics & Extension)

Basic O’Level requirement

SSCE/GCE/ O’ Level credit passes in five subjects including Mathematics and English, Chemistry, Agricultural Science/Biology, Geography/ Economics or Physics obtained at not more than two sittings.

Graduates of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University or other recognized Universities with at least Third Class Honours Degree.

HND holders with a minimum of Lower credit from recognised institutions.

PGD, Animal Production

Basic O’Level Requirements

Candidates must possess five (5) credit passes in five subjects including English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science or Biology and Geography or Economics or Physics in a maximum of two attempts at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) or National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB), Teachers’ College Grade II Certificate, WAEC Technical, City and Guilds, General Certificate Examination (GCE) at the ordinary level or its equivalent. A Pre-NCE or Pre-ND credit pass in the relevant subjects are also acceptable.

Graduates of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University or other recognized Universities with at least Third Class Honours Degree.

HND holders with a minimum of Lower credit from recognised institutions.

PGD, Agricultural Science (Crop Production)

Basic O’Level requirement

PROGRAMME DURATION

• UTME (100 level): 5 years
• Direct Entry (200 level): 4 years
• PGD (FULL TIME) FULL TIME; Minimum – 12 months , Maximum – 24 months

NB: Applicants are to note that degree admission is through JAMB and those who possess the basic ordinary level entry requirement regardless of whether they close the College or not but have scored a minimum cut off mark of 180 in 2020 UTME can apply for any of the degree programmes.

Admission Requirements

1. B.Tech. Agricultural Economics & Extension

UTME Candidates (100 level)
WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB or its equivalent with O’Level credit passes in five subjects including Mathematics and English, Chemistry, Agricltural Science/Biology, Geography/Economics or Physics obtained at not more than two sittings. At least 180 at the 2020 UTME conducted by JAMB and must include English Language, Mathematics and two relevant subjects.

Direct Entry Candidates (200 Level)
Candidate seeing for admission through this mode should in addition to O’Level requirement possess two O’ Level in Chemistry and Agricultural Science/Biology, ND (or equivalent) HND lower credit.

2. B.Tech. Agricultural Science (Animal Production)

UTME Candidates (100 level)
WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB or its equivalent with O’ Level credit passes in give subjects including mathematics and English, Chemistry, Agricultural Science/Biology, Geography/Economics or Physics obtained at not more than two sittings. At least 180 at the 2020 UTME conduced by JAMB and must include English Language, Mathematics and two relevant subjects.

Direct Entry Candidates (200 level)
Candidates seeking admission through this mode should in addition to the UTME O’Level requirements possess either of the following:

• Two GCE, O’Level credit passes in Chemistry and Agricultural Sciences or Biology
• Holders of OND/HND/NCE (or equivalent) can gain entry into 200 Level provided they have a minimum of lower credit grade.
• IJMB passes at credit level in relevant subject

3. B.Tech. Agricultural Science (Crop Production)

UTME Candidates (100 Level)
WASSCE/GCE/NABTEB or its equivalent with O’Level credit passes in five subjects including Mathematics and English Chemistry an Agricultural Science/Biology, Geography/Economics or Physics obtained at not more than two sittings. At least 180 at the 2020 UTME conducted by JAMB and must include English Language, Mathematics and two relevant subjects.

Direct Entry Candidates (200 level)

Candidate seeing for admission through the mode should in addition to O’Level requirement possess two A Level in Chemistry and Agricultural Science / Biology, ND (or equivalent) / HND lower credit.

Cost of Application Form

• Degree (UTME & Direct Entry): Five Thousand Naira (N5,000) only including screening fees 
• Post Graduate Diploma, PGD: Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only.

Method of Application

i. Interested applicants should visit the college portal “portal.fcahptvom.edu.ng/degree” to complete the application form online. 

 Steps to complete the application form:

a) Create and account on the portal.

b) Generate RRR and make payment using your debit card or through any bank. The cost of application form is as indicated below: 

 Degree programme: N5, 000.00 only (including screening charges).

c) Go back to the portal through your account and complete all necessary forms and submit your application. 

d) Printout the application form.

ii. Ensure that the online form is carefully and correctly completed as corrections on personal information or change of course after completion of online application and submission will attract a fee.

iii. It is mandatory for DE applicants to make arrangement with their previous institutions to forward a hard copy of their Transcript to the Secretary, Directorate of Degree programme, Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT), P.M.B. 05, Vom, Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. No candidate will be considered for admission without a valid transcript. 

CLOSING DATE FOR COMPLETION AND SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM

Candidates are expected to complete and submit the application form online, printout a copy of the application form. The printed application form, photocopy of your credentials and a copy of the receipt of the purchase of the form should be returned to the Secretary, Directorate of Degree programme, Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT), P.M.B. 05, Vom, Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.
