From Roadside Hawker to Law Graduate
In a heartwarming turn of events, Ekuma Jeremiah Iziogo, widely known as Jerry Luck, has officially graduated from law school, fulfilling a dream that once seemed out of reach. Jeremiah gained national attention in 2022 after a short video clip showed him offering money to inmates being transported in a prison van—despite his own modest means as a roadside hawker in Lagos.
That single act of compassion captivated the country and changed the trajectory of his life.
Obi Cubana’s Life-Changing Support
Moved by Jeremiah’s selflessness, billionaire entrepreneur Obi Cubana stepped in to offer him a full scholarship to study law. This generous gesture opened a new chapter in Jeremiah’s life—one that led to his recent graduation in 2025.
Celebrating his academic achievement, Jeremiah took to Instagram to express deep gratitude, sharing photos from his graduation ceremony and reflecting on his journey:
“Today, a journey that started with little or no hope of crossing the finish line has come to an amazing end… A raw but naked hope of becoming a lawyer that I had. How the hope crashed and how I started again even in a bigger and better way through the invaluable support of the good people of Nigeria… It was five years of diverse experiences.”
Heartfelt Appreciation to Supporters
Jeremiah extended special thanks to Obi Cubana, as well as others who supported him throughout his academic journey. Among them were @iam_hymans, @lush_eby, @winihyc, @rockyemmyphotography, and media personality Daddy Freeze.
“Thank you for making my dream a reality. For keeping to all your promises… I can’t appreciate your candid supports enough. A true testament of your philanthropy and services to humanity,” he wrote, finishing with hashtags: #LLB #ebsu2025.
