The French Embassy in Nigeria, in collaboration with Campus France Nigeria, has introduced the “French and Sciences” scholarship program aimed at undergraduate students interested in learning French and sciences through classes, workshops, and conferences.
This initiative, highlighted in a BusinessDay report, marks the first of its kind by Campus France Nigeria, an entity dedicated to promoting French higher education. The scholarship offers three to four-week short-stay visas starting in June and includes round-trip airfare, a monthly stipend, lodging, health insurance, and repatriation insurance.
The program comprises four concurrent sessions scheduled for June. The “Accent français – Montpellier” session, focusing on Sustainable Development, will run for three weeks from June 9 to June 28, 2024. The “CLA – Besançon” program, centered on Micro, Nano, and Smart Technologies for Industrial Applications, is set for June 3 to June 28, 2024. Similarly, the “Ciel Bretagne – Brest” session, dedicated to Sciences and Technologies of the Sea, will span three weeks from June 17 to July 5, 2024. Additionally, the “Focus on Transport and Energy” program in Rouen, Normandy, will extend for three weeks from May 27 to June 14, 2024, beginning in May.
Eligible applicants must be Nigerian citizens under 25 enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program accredited by the National Universities Commission. To apply, interested candidates must submit a CV, a cover letter expressing their motivation to learn French, a passport, and proof of university enrollment for the 2023-2024 academic year to [email protected], along with completing the application form.
Successful applicants will receive notification emails by March 20th outlining the travel itinerary and visa application process. Grantees will be connected to Campus France Paris, responsible for mobility oversight, through the French Embassy in Nigeria and Campus France Nigeria. Applications must be submitted by March 11, 2024.
