Federal University of Education, Zaria formerly Federal College of Education Zaria management has developed biometric software for CBT Examination.

The CBT Center at the Federal University of Education, Zaria, has made significant strides in enhancing examination security and integrity. In an effort to combat issues like impersonation and cheating, the Center has developed and sponsored a biometric software specifically designed to authenticate students before they enter the examination hall. This innovative approach mirrors the systems used by JAMB for conducting exams, providing a robust solution to a longstanding challenge.
The newly implemented biometric software requires students to register their biometric data prior to their exams. Those who fail to complete this registration will not be granted access to the examination hall, ensuring that only authorized individuals participate. Upon arrival, students will simply scan their thumbprints, and the system automatically verifies their identity by displaying their photograph. This seamless integration of technology not only enhances security but also streamlines the examination process, making it more efficient.
The biometric system was successfully tested during the PDE exams, marking a significant milestone for the Computer Based Test (CBT) Center. The successful deployment of this technology reinforces the commitment of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, to uphold the integrity of its assessments. Insha Allah, this system will soon be available for use by our NCE students, further solidifying our dedication to providing a secure examination environment.
The introduction of biometric authentication represents a major advancement in ensuring a secure examination process at the College. By leveraging innovative technology, the CBT Center is setting a precedent for academic integrity, safeguarding the values essential to education. As we look to the future, the deployment of this system promises to enhance the credibility of our assessments, benefiting both students and educators alike.
