Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO 45 Courses are approved and Accredited by National Universities Commission (NUC).


The vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Professor Francis C. Eze, have announced that the 45 programmes run in FUTO are accredited.
This announcement was made public to newsmen during a press briefing ahead the 2017/2018 convocation ceremony.
According to Eze, 43 programmes of the institution have full accreditation while just two courses have interim accreditation.
“Likewise, the result of the 2017 NUC accreditation of our programmes showed that of all the 45 programmes, only two have interim accreditation status, while others have full accreditation status. ” he added.
He also revealed that the school management is currently developing another school/faculty which will be called School of Computing Information and Communication Technology.
“We are currently developing a new School of Computing Information and Communication Technology that would house programmes like Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Science and Electronics.”
Professor Francis also announced that the University has concluded arrangement for the creation of Department of Forensic Science and Cyber Security.
