The FCT Police Command of the Federal Capital Territory has stated that it has rescued all the abducted victims of the University of Abuja and reunited with their families through joint operations with other security agencies.


Police Command spokesperson Josephine Adelaide confirmed this development in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday.
Recall that some armed criminals invaded the university staff dormitory in the Gili community of FCT in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
It is said that more than 20 Gunmen broke into the university faculty dormitory and quickly fled with the victim.
Earlier, the University of Abuja Branch of Academic Staff Union University ASUU called on the federal government and security agencies to immediately rescue and release all abducted university members and staff.
The chairman of the branch, Dr. Kasim Umar, expressed his concern about the insecurity and called for strict and urgent measures to ensure the safety of the community.
According to him, the senior staff dormitory was built as a police barracks by President Shehu Shagari’s government when the university was founded in 1988, and later converted into a temporary residence for the founding employees of the university.
