A Nigerian graduate is pleading for help after her father was kidnapped in Kogi while returning from her convocation, with the abductors demanding a ₦10 million ransom and reportedly torturing him.


A young Nigerian graduate has made a heartbreaking public appeal after her father was allegedly abducted on his way back to Abuja shortly after attending her convocation ceremony.
The situation came to light after an X user, @Mkhay21, who identified the victim as his classmate’s father, shared the distressing report online.
According to the graduate, her father travelled to Ondo State for her convocation at FUTA, but was kidnapped in Kabba, Kogi State, while returning home. She revealed that the abductors are demanding a ₦10 million ransom, and her father has reportedly been tied up and tortured since the incident.
In her emotional plea, she wrote that she managed to speak with him briefly, during which he begged the family to act quickly as his condition worsened. She appealed to Nigerians for prayers and any form of support to help secure his release.
One of her posts read:
“My dad was kidnapped on his way back to Abuja after my convocation. They are demanding ₦10m. I’m devastated. I spoke with him and he’s being tortured. Please, any support is not too small. Keep my family in your prayers.”
The young graduate continues to call for help as efforts intensify to ensure her father’s safe return.
