Kwara State Polytechnic notice to HND II students on submission of SIWES details

The Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) Unit of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has released an internal memo mandating all current Higher National Diploma (HND) II students to submit their Industrial Training (IT) details on or before Thursday, 17th July 2025, for onward documentation with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
According to the memo signed by Engr. Jimoh A. A., Acting Director of SIWES, the directive aligns with a requirement by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) that all prospective NYSC members must present a valid IT completion certificate to qualify for mobilization.
The SIWES Unit has called on all Heads of Department (HODs) to coordinate efforts to ensure full compliance from students. Submissions are to be made in softcopy format and compiled into a Microsoft Excel sheet using a specific tabular format.
A sample entry included in the memo details the expected information: Matric Number, IT Placement and Address, Post Held, and the Training Duration (Starting and Ending Dates).
The circular has been officially copied to top administrative officers within the Polytechnic, including the Rector, Deputy Rectors, and Directors of academic and administrative units.
Failure to submit the required IT details within the stipulated deadline may affect students’ NYSC eligibility.
Students are urged to act swiftly and ensure proper documentation is completed ahead of the deadline
