LASU Convocation 2026: Lagos State University (LASU) 29th-30th Convocation Ceremony Programme of Events has been released.


This is to inform the general public, graduands, and stakeholders that the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, has announced the programme of events for the 29th and 30th Combined Convocation Ceremonies for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Academic Sessions.
The detailed program of the event for the ceremony has been released. Below is the schedule.

Date: Wednesday, 12th August to Sunday, 23rd August 2026
Pre-Convocation Events
Day 1: Wednesday, 12th August 2026
- Convocation Press Conference: 10:00 a.m. at the Senate Chamber, Ojo Campus
- Convocation Sports Competition for Staff: 12:00 noon at the LASU Sports Centre
Convocation Events
Day 2: Thursday, 13th August 2026
- Staff Celebration Day: 2:00 p.m. at Buba Marwa Auditorium, Ojo
Day 3: Friday, 14th August 2026
- Coconut Breaking and Cultural Day: 9:00 a.m. at Badagry Gate Entrance
- Convocation Jumat Service: 1:00 p.m. at the University Mosque, Ojo
Day 4: Monday, 17th August 2026
- Award of Diplomas and Degrees (Engineering, Agriculture, and Science): 10:00 a.m. at Olatunji Bello Auditorium, Epe Campus
Day 5: Tuesday, 18th August 2026
- Convocation Lecture: 9:00 a.m. at Buba Marwa Auditorium, Ojo
- Award of Other Diplomas and Degrees: 10:00 a.m. at Buba Marwa Auditorium, Ojo
Day 6: Wednesday, 19th August 2026
- Award of PhDs and Honorary Doctorate Degrees: 10:00 a.m. at Buba Marwa Auditorium, Ojo
Day 7: Sunday, 23rd August 2026
- Special Convocation Thanksgiving Service: 10:00 a.m. at the University Chapel, Ojo
Notice to Graduands
- Payment: All graduands must pay for the convocation package via the official portal: www.lasu.edu.ng/tsa/payment/default.php
- Academic Gowns: Gowns must be returned by Friday, 21st August 2026. Late returns attract a fine of ₦1,000.00 per day.
- Lost Gowns: Replacement fees are ₦36,000.00 (First Degree/Diploma) and ₦45,000.00 (Masters).
- Certificates: Available for collection immediately after the ceremony upon return of academic gowns.
- Procession: Graduands must join the procession by 9:00 a.m. Latecomers will not be allowed into the auditorium.
- Photography: Taking of photographs is strictly prohibited during the ceremony.
Important Instructions
- Dress Code: Graduands must be properly robed in their faculty colors.
- Seating: Parents and guests should be seated no later than 8:30 a.m. each day.
- Clearance: Graduands are required to complete clearance in their respective Colleges/Schools/Faculties before the convocation.
UNAUTHORIZED MOVEMENTS AND TAKING OF PHOTOGRAPHS WILL NOT be allowed during the Convocation Ceremonies. Graduands are therefore advised in their own interest to complete such activity before coming into the University Auditorium OR wait till after the ceremony. Any graduand who leaves his/her seat while the ceremony is on will NOT be allowed to return to the Auditorium. This is to ensure ORDERLINESS during the Convocation Ceremonies.
Graduands and Invited Guests under the canopy outside the Auditorium are requested to be orderly and rise to their feet as the Academic Procession enters AND leaves the Convocation venue.
