Niger Poly Management Approved Key Appointments for Newly Created School of Computing and Information Technology.


The Management of Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, has approved the appointment of principal officers for the newly established School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT). The appointments, which take effect from June 8, 2026, are for an initial period of two years, renewable once, subject to satisfactory performance.
Under the new arrangement, Dr. Abdullahi Salisu has been appointed Dean of the School, while Mrs. Aisha Aliyu Mohammed and Moses Ali will serve as School Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer respectively.
The School of Computing and Information Technology comprises seven academic departments. The Department of Computer Science, which oversees the National Diploma (ND) Computer Science programme, will be headed by Mallam Usman Ubandawaki. Isah Gomna Sheshi and Mahmud Daniyan have been appointed as Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer respectively.
The Department of Networking and Computing, responsible for the Higher National Diploma (HND) Networking and Cloud Computing programme, will be headed by Adamu Isah Dagah, with Shehu Hamidu and Mrs. Hakilatu Yahuza serving as Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer respectively.
For the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, which coordinates the HND Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning programme, Dr. Oladele O. Campbell has been appointed Head of Department. Abubakar Yusuf and Nasiru Umar will serve as Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer respectively.
In the Department of Cyber Security, charged with managing the HND Cyber Security programme, Abdulkadir Umar has been appointed Head of Department, while Jibrin Usman and Mrs. Hassana Yusuf will serve as Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer respectively.
Similarly, the Department of Software and Web Development, which oversees the HND Software and Web Development programme, will be headed by Ibrahim Mohammed. Peter Bake and Abdulsamad Sadiq have been appointed Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer respectively.
The Department of Library and Information Technology, which has been placed under the new school, will be headed by Dr. Ahmed Garba, with Suleiman Abdul-Aziz and Yusuf Abdul-Aziz serving as Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer respectively.
Also reassigned to the School of Computing and Information Technology is the Department of Mass Communication, where Abubakar Usman has been appointed Head of Department. Jacob Tsado and Usman Yahaya will serve as Examinations Officer and Assistant Examinations Officer respectively.
Management stated that the appointments were made on the basis of professional competence and efficiency required to administer the newly created departments and programmes. It therefore called on staff and students to accord the new leadership maximum support, dedication, professionalism, and adherence to strong ethical values to ensure the successful development of the School of Computing and Information Technology and the programmes under it.
JOHSAT Charges Researchers to Submit Papers for Volume 5, Number 1
The Journal of Humanities, Science and Technology (JOHSAT), a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal published by Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, has called for the submission of original research papers and scholarly articles for Volume 5, Number 1, 2026.
According to the editorial board, the journal welcomes contributions in the fields of humanities, science, technology and other related disciplines aimed at advancing knowledge and promoting sustainable development.
Interested authors are required to submit their manuscripts electronically to [email protected] on or before Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
All submissions will undergo a peer-review process, while a vetting fee of ₦5,000 applies. Accepted papers will attract a publication fee of ₦15,000.
The Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Jiman Chado, stated that JOHSAT provides a platform for the dissemination of original research findings, scholarly reviews and policy-oriented studies, adding that the journal is published in both online and print formats.
Manuscripts must be original, unpublished and prepared in accordance with the journal’s prescribed guidelines, including the use of APA referencing style and British English spelling.
