Professor Rotimi Sadiku, a polymer scientist at Tshwane University of Technology, has been recognized as one of the top global researchers, ranking in the top two percent worldwide according to the AD Scientific Index 2025.


Professor Rotimi Sadiku, a distinguished polymer scientist and prominent member of the Ogidi Ela Forum, has been named the top researcher globally, surpassing 379 other scientists at Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria, South Africa, where he has taught and conducted research for over 20 years.
According to information from Greenbarge Reporters, the ranking was based on the AD Scientific Index 2025, coordinated by Elsevier Publishers and Stanford University. Professor Sadiku ranked 154th out of 19,145 researchers in South Africa and 262nd among 170,834 in Africa.
Globally, he stands at 46,951 out of 2,400,171 researchers, placing him among the top two percent of scientists worldwide.
The AD Scientific Index, supported by Meta Artificial Intelligence (AI), ranks researchers based on their scientific performance and publication metrics, including the H-Index (a measure of research productivity and citation impact), citations, publications, international collaborations, and overall scientific output. Its goal is to promote transparency, highlight leading researchers and institutions, foster collaboration, and aid in research evaluation and policy-making.
