A Nigerian woman claims she scored 14 A’s and 1 C in her Junior WAEC despite being in a seven-day trance during the exams, sparking widespread reactions and debate online.

A young Nigerian woman has stunned social media users after sharing a remarkable story about how she allegedly scored 14 A’s and 1 C in her Junior WAEC exams — despite missing part of the examination period due to a spiritual trance that lasted seven days.
The extraordinary testimony was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by user @the_girl_IYUN in response to a viral thread where users were asked to share personal experiences showcasing their faith in God.
According to her, she fell into a trance while attending church the day before her final exam. She claimed the spiritual episode lasted an entire week, during which she was reportedly ministering to people seeking prophetic guidance in the church.
Her mother, alarmed by her sudden absence from the exams, visited her school to notify the principal. To her disbelief, she claimed to have seen her daughter inside the exam hall, actively writing her papers — even though the daughter was still physically in a trance at the church.
@the_girl_IYUN explained that she had managed to sit for most of the papers before entering the trance, and the only subject she missed was the one where she scored a C. She said she earned A’s in all other subjects.
Sharing the story, she wrote:
“JS3 Junior WAEC, I was in church a day before the last paper and I went on a 7-day trance. I was in church attending to people who came for prophecies.
Mum went to school to inform my principal, but she saw me sitting in the exam hall writing the exam. She returned to the church and started looking at me strangely.
When I came down from the trance and they told me everything, I didn’t believe it — until the results came out. I had 14 A’s and 1 C. The C was in the subject I supposedly didn’t write. That’s when I got the nickname ‘Ghost.’”
The post has triggered a wave of reactions online, with many expressing a mix of awe, disbelief, humor, and curiosity. Some questioned the logistics of the situation, while others jokingly suggested it was worthy of a movie plot.
Here are a few responses from X users:
- @1xMoe: “My only question is, when your mum saw you writing the exam, were you wearing Sutana or school uniform?”
- @toofighting: “So, please indulge me 🙏🏽 How did your mum see you in the hall if she was just going to the principal’s office? Is the office inside the exam hall?”
- @_iamtolulope: “Go give this script to Funke Akindele. That’s a blockbuster. Netflix worthy.”
- @Itzpelumi: “Na me mark the paper that year. Holy Spirit just appear say give am 100/100 and I listened.”
- @sunday_ola40769: “Many people won’t believe this, but I pray God opens their eyes. My brother went to a prayer mountain and had a similar experience.”
Whether seen as a miracle or myth, the story has captivated thousands and sparked deeper conversations about faith, the supernatural, and the unexplained intersections of spirituality and daily life in Nigeria.
