Nigerian Maritime University, NMU Introduces Mandatory Continuous Assessment Within 2 weeks of Resumption .


The Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Delta State, has announced a new academic directive mandating all lecturers to conduct at least one continuous assessment (CA) test within two weeks of students’ resumption.
This decision was approved during the University Senate’s 25th Meeting held on 9th July 2025, aimed at promoting greater seriousness among both lecturers and students.
According to an internal memorandum issued by the Office of the Registrar on 17th November 2025, all tests must be conducted physically on campus, and results are to be submitted immediately to the respective Heads of Department.
The memo further instructs lecturers to give students a minimum of two days’ notice before any test is conducted. The directive applies to both semesters of the academic session.
