Northwest University Sokoto Receives NCN Approval to Commence Bsc. Nursing

Nursing Council Of Nigeria (NCN) Gave A Passmark To Northwest University Sokoto NWUS For Its Level Of Preparedness To Commence BSC NURSING.

The Nursing Council Of Nigeria has gaving a passmark to the northwest university sokoto for its level of preparedness to commence training of bachelor science degree in nursing.

Registrar of the Council made the commendation when he led a team for the accreditation of nursing department of the university.

According to the registrar, they were impressed with the available resources in the nursing department aimed at ensuring the commencement of the Programme in the university.

He said they were particularly pleased and satisfied with the provisions of the law establishing the university which he noted has covered the establishment of the nursing department in the Institution.

Dr. Faruk Abubakar cited an example with training manuals provided by the university that includes curriculum which he said were available and well stated as well as vission mission and objectives of the university which were all captured and stated.

Alhaji Faruk Abubakar further said as accreditation team from the nursing council of Nigeria, they were pleased with what they have seen so far with regard to the commitment of the university to see the commencement of the nursing department.

He said other facilities that impressed them were the available laboratories for nursing and midwifery provided by the university.

Registrar also said the whole idea of their visit to the university was to ensure that the standard is strictly put in place for the purpose of training competent and qualified Nurses and midwives by the university.

The registrar used the opportunity to comment the founder of the university Senator Dr Aliyu magatakarda Wamakko for his passion to the development of education by establishing the Institution.

Dr. Faruk Abubakar while acknowledging the strength of the university, he however highlighted to it’s management some area’s that need to be improved for the progress and development of the University.
