NSUK to commences Medicine and Surgery Next Session – VC

Nasarawa State University, NSUK to Commences MBBS Program Next Academic Session.

The Nasarawa State University, Keffi, is set to commence its MBBS program in the College of Health and Medical Sciences next academic session. Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed gave the assurance during the handing over of the building that will house the College of Medical and Health Sciences recently.

Professor Suleiman stated that already Community Health and Health Information Management programs will commence this academic session, with the completion and equipping of the College of Medical and Health Sciences Complex, the MBBS program will take off from the next academic session after certification from NUC, Medical and Dental Health Council, and JAMB.

The Vice-Chancellor used the opportunity to thank TETfund and the contractor of the project Messers Goldmark for executing the project according to specification and delivering the project despite the challenges encountered during the execution of the contract.

In his remark, the Managing Director of Goldmark Construction Services, Engr. S.A. Danladi thanked the University management for the opportunity to add value to the University. According to him, the contract was awarded in 2021 with a completion period of 24 weeks to be handed over in 2022, but due to the delays experienced by COVID-19, the project is delivered in 2023.

Highpoint of the ceremony was the handing over of the keys of the complex to the Vice-Chancellor and a guided tour of the building led by the Acting Director of Physical Physical Planning, Engr. Ahmed Liman.

The College of Medical and Health Sciences Complex was constructed through the TETfund Annual Intervention Project 2017–2019.
