Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, PAAU Secured Full NUC Accreditation for All Programmes in 2024 Exercise.


Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, celebrates full accreditation status for all the programmes that participated in the November/December 2024 NUC accreditation exercise.
Announcing the achievement at the 154th regular Meeting of the University Senate, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kogi State and Visitor to the University, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the entire University community for their hard work, resilience, and commitment to upholding the vision and mission of the Institution. She noted that the full accreditation across these diverse programmes reflects the University’s robust curriculum, quality teaching, research outputs, and state-of-the-art facilities.
“This achievement affirms that Prince Abubakar Audu University continues to meet and exceed national benchmarks in higher education. It is a proud moment for us all and a call to even greater academic dedication,” Professor Tenuche said.

Faculty of Social Sciences - Mass Communication – Full Accreditation
Faculty of Natural Sciences & Faculty of Education - Education Biology – Full Accreditation
- Education Chemistry – Full Accreditation
- Education Mathematics – Full Accreditation
- Chemistry – Full Accreditation
- Geology – Full Accreditation
- Physics – Full Accreditation
Commenting on the success of the accreditation exercise, the Director of Academic Planning, Professor Abayomi Ajayi noted that, accreditation exercise implies that the Departments are in good standing with NUC. It means that they have the requisite criteria to function excellently according to the NUC and global best practices standards for the next five years till 2029.
The former Head of Department of Mass Communications, Dr. Christ Attah commended the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche and the entire University Management Team for the success of the exercise. Speaking to the University Media Team, Dr. Chris asserted that you cannot have a VC like Professor Tenuche and fail accreditation. Because her commitment to preparation for these exercises is too detailed, thorough, comprehensive and, if I may add, merciless.”
The accreditation exercise, conducted by the NUC in October/November 2024, was carried out in line with Section 10 (1) of the Education (National Minimum Standard and Establishment of Institutions) Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, which empowers the Commission to set and accredit minimum academic standards across Nigerian universities.
The PAAU remains steadfast in its mission to deliver world-class education and contribute meaningfully to national development through innovation, research, and manpower development. This accreditation success sets a solid foundation for continuous growth, ensuring that PAAU remains a beacon of academic excellence in Nigeria and beyond.
