Pan-Atlantic University is a private, non-profit educational institution in Lagos, Nigeria. It was formerly called Pan-African University and was founded in 2002. The name of the institution was changed in order to avoid confusion with the Pan-African University of the African Union.

PAU Admission Requirements.

In this column, we will discuss the requirements for both UTME, direct entry and inter-university transfer candidates.

UTME CANDIDATES.

  • Current JAMB result.
  • O’ Level result (English and Mathematics inclusive).
  • Register for PAU Post UTME Screening
  • A candidate must be at least 16 years within the month that the session begins (for now, academic sessions in Pan-Atlantic University begin in October)
  • The required UTME subjects for School of Management and Social Sciences (SMSS) courses are Mathematics, Economics/Financial Accounting /Commerce and any other subject.
  • The required UTME subjects for Mass Communication are any three from Arts or Social Sciences.
  • The required UTME subjects for Information Science and Media Studies (ISMS) are any three from Science, Arts or Social Sciences (Mathematics is an added advantage).

DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES

To be eligible, an applicant is required to have one of the following qualifications:

  • Two advanced level passes in Arts or Social Sciences subjects.
  • An OND/HND credit level in a relevant discipline.
  • NCE with merit in a relevant discipline
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) in relevant subjects.

Inter-University Transfer Students.

  1. A transfer student must be a current student of the university from which he/she seeks to transfer and should have a clean disciplinary record.
  2. A transfer student from a Nigerian University is required to possess a JAMB score that is not less than the minimum score of PAU students admitted into his/her intended department in his/her admission year or the minimum JAMB score as approved in the year of admission into the university.
  3. A transfer student should possess the minimum Pan-Atlantic University and departmental entry requirement and should have obtained these prior to entry into the university from where transfer is being sought.
  4. A transfer student should have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 on a 5.00 point scale to qualify for consideration into 200 level. Students with CGPA not lower than 1.50 may be considered for admission into 100 level.
  5. The application should be accompanied by the student’s transcript, which will be verified. f. If at any stage irregularity is discovered in the papers presented by the students, such students shall be asked to withdraw from the University.
  6. A student can only transfer into the same course of study – or a similar course where applicable – that he/she was engaged in previously in his/her original university.
  7. The number of students offered admission by transfer shall not exceed 10% of the number of students in the class they are to join. I. All applications for inter–university transfer will remain open until the close of the admission process.

Direct Entry Requirements for Individual Courses.

  • For admission into the School of Management and Social Sciences

Programmes available in the School of Management and Social Sciences are:

  • B.Sc. in Business Administration
  • B.Sc. in Accounting
  • B.Sc. In Economics
  • B.Sc. In Finance 

To be eligible, an applicant is required to have one of the following qualifications:

  1. Two ‘A’ level credits in relevant subjects.
  2. International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) in relevant subjects
  3. NCE with merit in relevant discipline.
  4. An OND in a relevant discipline
  5. A HND/Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • For admission into the School of Media and Communication

Programmes available in the School of Media and Communication are:

  • B.Sc. in Mass Communication
  • B.Sc. in Information Science and Media Studies (ISMS)

To be eligible, an applicant is required to have one of the following qualifications:

  1. Two ‘A’ level credits in Arts or Social Sciences subjects (Mass Communication).
  2. Two ‘A’ level credits in Arts, Social Sciences or Science subjects (ISMS).
  3. International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) in relevant subjects
  4. NCE with merit in relevant discipline
  5. An OND in a relevant discipline
  6. A HND/Degree in a relevant discipline.
