Two women have been charged by police for the alleged murder of a 19-year-old Nasarawa State University student, as the case continues in court with a hearing set for July 7, 2026.

The Nigeria Police have brought criminal charges against two women, Grace Okosun and Zainab Abdulmumin, in connection with the alleged killing of a 19-year-old student of Nasarawa State University, identified as Zubeidat Isa.
The matter was presented before the FCT High Court sitting in Apo Resettlement, but proceedings could not continue at the last hearing. As a result, the court adjourned the case to a later date for further hearing.
According to court documents marked CR/335/2025 and dated May 27, 2025, the defendants are accused of culpable homicide linked to the student’s death. The charges were filed by Wisdom Madaki from the Nigeria Police Legal Prosecution Section.
Police reports state that the alleged offence took place on February 13, 2025, within the court’s jurisdiction. The prosecution further claimed that the two women conspired to commit the crime, which is punishable under Sections 96 and 97 of the Penal Code.
It was also alleged that Grace Okosun, aged 32, and Zainab Abdulmumin, aged 28, killed the student at a residence in Annex Hotel. Authorities claim the act was carried out after the victim was suspected of having a relationship with Okosun’s boyfriend, identified as Kelvin Donaldson. The alleged offence is said to violate Sections 220 and 221 of the Penal Code.
Meanwhile, a group known as Egbira Voice Worldwide has called for justice in the case. The organisation submitted a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, urging authorities to ensure that all those responsible are held accountable.
In the petition, signed by its President-General, Prince Raji Anas, and General Secretary, Kenneth Enebe, the group alleged that the main suspect, believed to be the victim’s employer, lured the young woman from her home under the guise of assigning her work.
They further claimed that the victim had been at home on her day off when she received a call to report for duty. After leaving, she reportedly never returned.
The court is expected to resume hearing on the matter on July 7, 2026.
