Nick Cannon, American comedian and entertainer, graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology/Administration of Justice and a minor in Africana Studies from Howard University in 2020, celebrating his achievement via Instagram amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.


American comedian, television host, actor, and rapper Nick Cannon, officially known as Nicholas Scott Cannon, has graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Howard University in Washington, DC.
In 2020, Cannon earned his degree in Criminology/Administration of Justice with a minor in Africana Studies. He celebrated this achievement by sharing a video on Instagram, where he was seen wearing a graduation cap and gown, and delivering a speech at the virtual graduation ceremony amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I graduated from Howard University @howarduniversity1867 today! Received a degree in Criminology / Administration of Justice and a minor in Africana Studies! Had the opportunity to speak at the virtual ceremony. Masters and PhD are next! #HU2020,” Cannon wrote.
Nick Cannon began his academic journey at this Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in 2016. He announced his enrollment on Twitter, quoting Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Cannon expressed his passion for new challenges and personal growth as his motivation for pursuing his first degree at Howard University, an institution renowned for nurturing brilliant minds. He also mentioned having friends, mentors, and colleagues who studied at Howard, adding to his excitement and optimism about the opportunities this education would bring.
