SLUK Matriculates 1503 Newly Admitted Students

Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa (SLUK) has officially welcomed 1,503 newly admitted undergraduate students into its academic community during the 10th Matriculation Ceremony held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

The ceremony, which marked the formal induction of students for the 2024/2025 Academic Session, was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, fcasson, mnae, who reiterated the university’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and the holistic development of its students.

In his address, Professor Yakasai emphasized the university’s mandate to produce graduates who are not only academically sound but also morally upright, equipping them to become productive and responsible members of society. He urged the newly admitted students to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations of the university, while also serving as good ambassadors of their respective communities. The Vice-Chancellor further cautioned the students against engaging in social vices, reminding them of the importance of maintaining a focus on their academic and personal growth.

Professor Yakasai disclosed that out of 8,761 applicants, only 1,753 candidates were offered admission, with 1,503 successfully completing their registration. This selective admission process underscores the university’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and ensuring that only the most qualified candidates are admitted. He congratulated the new students on their successful induction, describing them as fortunate to be part of the SLUK community, which is dedicated to fostering excellence in learning and character development.

The matriculation ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including all Principal Officers of the university, members of the Senate, and the Area Commander of the Kafin Hausa Area Command of the Nigerian Police Force, ACP Ali Musa. Their presence highlighted the importance of the event and the collective commitment to supporting the students’ academic journey.

As SLUK continues to grow and uphold its reputation as a center of academic excellence, the matriculation of these 1,503 students marks another milestone in the university’s mission to contribute to national development through quality education.
