Student stabbed to death by fellow pupil in Russian school

A 10-year-old student was fatally stabbed at a school in Gorki-2 near Moscow after a 15-year-old pupil attacked a security guard, used pepper spray, and carried out the assault, prompting authorities to arrest the suspect and launch an investigation into the motive.

A 10-year-old student has been confirmed dead following a stabbing incident at a school in Russia, according to local authorities. The attack occurred on Tuesday when an older student allegedly launched a violent assault within the school premises.

Police said the suspect first confronted a school security guard, during which pepper spray was discharged, creating panic among students and staff. The attacker then reportedly turned on the younger pupil, stabbing the child and inflicting fatal injuries. Emergency responders were called to the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The incident took place in Gorki-2, a village in the Odintsovo district, located west of Moscow. Security forces quickly intervened, and the suspect was detained without further violence. Officials later confirmed that the alleged attacker is a 15-year-old student.

Russia’s Investigative Committee announced that a criminal case has been opened and that investigators are working to establish the motive behind the attack. Authorities also said they are reviewing security measures at the school as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Violent incidents in Russian schools have been relatively uncommon in the past, but similar attacks have been reported in recent years, raising renewed concerns about student safety and school security across the country.
