A video shared on TikTok shows students of Ebonyi State University celebrating after a lecturer reportedly gave them ₦300,000 to buy breakfast during a 7 a.m. lecture when they complained of hunger.


A female student of Ebonyi State University has attracted attention online after sharing a video about a lecturer’s generous act toward students during a morning class.
The student, known as @princessmocha1 on TikTok, revealed that the lecturer surprised students with ₦300,000 during a 7 a.m. lecture after many of them complained about being hungry.
In the viral video posted on her page, students could be seen celebrating as the money was distributed among them. According to her, the cash was arranged in bundles of new ₦500 notes, although the identity of the lecturer has not been made public.
The student also disclosed that this was not the first time such a gesture had happened. She explained in the caption of the video that the lecturer had previously given students ₦2 million, joking that anyone who misses the class does so at their own loss.
The clip has since gained more than 200,000 views online, drawing numerous reactions from social media users who praised the lecturer’s generosity while others jokingly expressed interest in transferring to the university.
Some commenters shared humorous responses. One user said students were truly enduring hardship in school, while another asked how they could transfer to the institution. Others joked that their own lecturers would never behave that way, while one person even asked if it was possible to take the entrance exam at age 35 just to gain admission into the university.
The viral video continues to circulate widely online, with many viewers applauding the lecturer’s unexpected kindness toward the students.
