In a significant milestone that highlights the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB)’s prominence in global academic and research circles, three of its distinguished scholars have been ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide.


The recognition was based on the latest report released by Elsevier/Stanford University on September 16, 2024, which offered an extensive analysis of scientific publications and citation metrics, identifying the world’s most impactful scientists.
From FUNAAB, the three recognised scholars included, Prof. Abideen Adeogun from the Department of Chemistry, who was ranked 216,795 globally in the field of Biotechnology. With 50 publications indexed in Scopus, he stood out among the 62,673 scholars ranked in his area of expertise.
Also, Dr. Adewale Taiwo of the Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology (EMT), ranked 56,777 globally in Environmental Sciences, which included Earth and Environmental Sciences, as well as Enabling and Strategic Technologies. He has 65 Scopus-indexed publications and ranked within the top 313,936 scholars in the field.
Besides, Dr. Emmanuel Oke, from the Department of Animal Physiology (APH), ranked 501,639 globally in Dairy and Animal Science. With 69 publications in Scopus, he was one of the 662 scholars ranked in this specialised field.
The prestigious recognition underscored FUNAAB’s unwavering commitment to fostering academic excellence, driving cutting-edge research, and contributing to global scientific discourse. The achievements of these scholars are a reflection of the University’s vibrant academic environment and its relentless pursuit of innovation and knowledge.
