Twin brothers Malik and Miles George, awarded full scholarships for their outstanding academics, have graduated with bachelor’s degrees in Biological Engineering from MIT and will continue there to pursue their PhDs in the same field.

Twin brothers Malik and Miles George have achieved a major academic milestone by graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with bachelor’s degrees in Biological Engineering. Their success was made possible through full scholarships awarded for their exceptional academic performance. Now, they are set to continue their journey at MIT, pursuing doctoral degrees in the same field.
The George twins, both African American, were high school valedictorians and distinguished themselves through academic excellence early on. In addition to their engineering degrees, they completed minors in African and African Diaspora Studies. Throughout their time at MIT, they remained active in extracurricular and leadership roles—participating in groups such as Nu Delta Fraternity, The Standard, and Laureates and Leaders.
As Admissions Ambassadors, Malik and Miles worked with MIT’s admissions office to promote diversity and encourage more students from underrepresented backgrounds to apply. Their efforts extended beyond the university as they co-founded an educational platform, www.malikandmiles.com, to inspire and support students interested in STEM. Their content spans platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and Discord, creating a vibrant online learning community.
Beyond academics, the twins enjoy gaming, comic books, and exploring theories about the Marvel and DC universes. They credit their parents for instilling in them a strong work ethic and a love for learning from an early age.
As they prepare to enter MIT’s PhD program in Biological Engineering, both brothers are committed to making meaningful contributions. Malik aims to tackle global challenges through research and innovation, while Miles is passionate about developing equitable technologies for underserved communities and expanding opportunities for people of color in STEM fields.
