UAT Refutes False Rumour of Security Breach and Invasion of its Campus.

It has come to the attention of the Management of the University of Africa, Toru Orua (UAT) that a false and malicious rumour is currently circulating on several social media platforms claiming that the University’s campus in Toru-Orua has been invaded by bandits or herdsmen.
The University strongly and unequivocally refutes this unfounded and misguided rumour. The claim is entirely false, idle and baseless. It is a calculated attempt to cause unnecessary fear and panic, to destabilise UAT’s serene academic environment.
As a responsible institution, we boldly affirm that UAT’s campuses at Toru-Orua and Bulou-Orua communities have been and remain completely calm, safe and secure. The University has not experienced any form of invasion, breach of security or unrest. All academic, administrative and other activities are going on normally and uninterrupted in our campuses. Staff and students are on campus, safely going about their normal businesses without any incident.
Our robust internal security architecture remains highly vigilant and continues to work with security agencies on ground to continuously ensure safety in the communities and our campuses.
We therefore urge the general public, esteemed parents and guardians, and our dear staff and students to disregard the circulating dangerous falsehood. We advise the public to be wary of unverified information from unknown sources. We also appeal to those deliberately or inadvertently spreading these false stories to cease and desist forthwith.
The University Management is working with security forces to trace and address the source of this malicious rumour.
Members of the public with questions are encouraged to contact the University’s public relations office or the office of the Registrar for clarifications.
Signed
Dr Akpoebi Adesi
Registrar/Secretary to Council
